Introduced by Craft Concepts Group, now open at 1500 Locust, this pop-up bar is the city’s only St. Patrick’s Day-themed tavern. With previous successes like White Elephant for Christmas and Pink Elephant for Valentine’s, the Green Elephant swings open its doors just in time for the City of Brotherly Love to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and the start of the spring season.
Escape the bustle of the city and step into the charm of the Irish countryside night. The bar’s design, full of lush greenery and romantic hanging lanterns, creates a surreal atmosphere. Decorations include a giant tree adorned with luminaries, a ten-foot-long rainbow, an eight-foot-long four-leaf clover, and a six-foot-tall leprechaun hat to ignite the St. Patrick’s spirit.
As you enjoy the hum of the vibrant crowd, savor the authentic Irish beers poured on draft or a sip from the collection of St. Patrick-themed cocktails. Pair these with crowd-pleasers from the kitchen, such as Fish and Chips, Corned Beef and Cabbage Eggrolls, Yuengling Beer Battered Pickle Chips, and the unique Guinness Smashburger.
Green Elephant is open from 4:00 pm onwards, from Monday to Thursday, until midnight, while on Fridays and Saturdays, it’s open until 2:00 am. Sundays also see the doors open until midnight. However, the enchanting world of Green Elephant is an adults-only escape, allowing guests aged 21 and over to partake in the lively atmosphere and, of course, the drinks.
A dedicated team powers the Green Elephant, with Teddy Sourias spearheading as the owner, Hank Henson and Mike Smythe as the directors of operation, and Todd O’Connor as the general manager. Non-alcoholic options, such as the Fool’s Gold Mocktail and the Celtic Crush Mocktail, are available for those who prefer a refreshing beverage sans spirits.
