WILMINGTON, DE — Mayor Mike Purzycki joined representatives from Delaware-based health and wellness solutions company, GOLO, for a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the grand opening of its new distribution facility. The event took place on Thursday, November 9, co-hosted by the New Castle County Chamber of Commerce.
Located on South Heald Street, the new 80,000-square-foot facility is anticipated to add 50 new jobs to the city’s economy. “We are thrilled to welcome the GOLO staff and management to Wilmington along with the new jobs coming to our community,” said Mayor Purzycki.
GOLO’s new facility is set to distribute a variety of products, including weight loss solutions, wellness supplements, exercise equipment, and their recently launched line of frozen, nutritionally balanced meals. The facility will also house one of the largest dry-ice production lines in the Mid-Atlantic region, further contributing to the state’s industrial growth.
Chris Lundin, CEO and Founder of GOLO, expressed his excitement about the company’s expansion and the positive impact it will have on the local economy. “This is an exciting moment for our company and reflects our continued growth,” said Lundin. “We are also pleased about this opportunity to bring additional well-paying jobs to the state, and we want to thank Mayor Mike Purzycki and his administration for their support.”
In addition to boosting economic growth, GOLO is also committed to fighting food insecurity in Delaware. To celebrate the opening of their new facility, GOLO announced they will donate 100,000 nutritious meals from their GOLO Foods line to local food banks, food pantries, and community-based organizations over the next year.
“We look forward to working with our local partners to help increase access to healthy and nutritious meals for people and communities in need,” added Jennifer Brooks, President of GOLO.
This new facility underscores GOLO’s commitment to investing in Wilmington’s economy while also addressing key social issues. It also represents the spirit of innovation and calculated risk that Mayor Purzycki believes is crucial for the city’s economic success.
