KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — Goddard Systems, LLC, the organization managing The Goddard School franchise system, has announced a significant addition to its Educational Advisory Board (EAB). Dr. Ann McClain Terrell, a nationally recognized leader in early childhood education, is the latest luminary to join the EAB’s roster of esteemed educators, researchers, physicians, and early childhood experts.
The EAB plays a pivotal role in ensuring that The Goddard School’s individualized learning program and health and safety standards remain at the cutting edge of early childhood research and development. The board’s diverse expertise helps to guide and enhance the educational offerings of more than 600 Goddard Schools across the country.
Dr. Terrell brings to the board five decades of professional experience. As the former president of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the former executive director of the Milwaukee Public Schools Foundation, Inc., Dr. Terrell’s leadership has had a profound influence on educational policies and practices nationwide. Her career also includes roles as the director of innovation and director of early childhood education for the Milwaukee Public Schools district.
Dr. Lauren Loquasto, senior vice president and chief academic officer at GSL, expressed her excitement about Dr. Terrell’s appointment. “The EAB is a true differentiator for Goddard among early childhood education providers,” said Dr. Loquasto. “Its distinguished members offer unparalleled expertise and play a critical role in supporting and enhancing our proprietary educational program. In addition to her impressive career in education, Dr. Terrell is also an accomplished author. Her book, Graceful Leadership in Early Childhood Education, underscores her commitment to advancing the field of early childhood education. Dr. Terrell’s community service involvement extends to numerous boards, councils, and committees, including the Wisconsin Governor’s Early Childhood Advisory Council and the Milwaukee Succeeds Leadership Table.
Dr. Terrell expressed her admiration for The Goddard School and its dedication to innovative, high-quality early childhood education. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to join the EAB and help Goddard fulfill its simple yet powerful mission: To make the world a better place through early childhood education,” said Dr. Terrell.
Dr. Terrell holds an honorary doctorate of humane letters from Lakeland University and two master’s degrees, one in Educational Leadership from Cardinal Stritch University and another in Cultural Foundations of Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She has received numerous awards in recognition of her service and accomplishments, including the 2008 Black Women’s Network Legacy of Leadership in Education Award and the 2007 National Black Child Development Institute-Milwaukee Affiliate Early Childhood Recognition Award.
The addition of Dr. Terrell to the EAB represents a significant milestone for Goddard Systems.
