PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Garces Foundation will host its 13th annual benefit event on Thursday, May 8, 2025, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at Live! Casino & Hotel. This year’s celebration will feature a Latin night market theme, showcasing immigrant contributions to Philadelphia’s culinary scene while raising funds for vital healthcare and education programs benefiting the city’s immigrant community.
Chef Jose Garces, the James Beard Award-winning Iron Chef, will headline the evening, which promises culinary offerings from over three dozen acclaimed chefs and restaurants. Highlights will include Latin music, craft markets, and live and silent auctions, creating a vibrant setting to enjoy unlimited food and drinks. Participating establishments include Gabriella’s Vietnam, South Philly Barbacoa, Fiorella, and Buena Onda, among many others, demonstrating the depth of talent that defines the city’s food industry.
“This fundraiser is such a special moment for Philly’s food scene,” said Chef Garces. “Restaurants wouldn’t run without the hardworking immigrants who make it all happen in the back of the house and on the floor. That’s why this event means so much to me. This event was designed to be a great party with a very important purpose.”
Since its inception, the Garces Foundation has focused on eliminating healthcare and education barriers faced by Philadelphia’s immigrant community. These efforts include organizing community health days, offering English language classes tailored to hospitality workers, and funding critical dental and medical care.
“The Garces Foundation Benefit is more than just a celebration of food and culture – it’s a lifeline for our work supporting Philadelphia’s immigrant community,” said Foundation Executive Director Robin Morris.
Tickets for the event are priced at $125, with all proceeds going toward sustaining and expanding the foundation’s programs. By supporting the benefit, attendees contribute to an enduring mission of empowering the immigrant community while celebrating its integral role in Philadelphia’s cultural and culinary landscapes.
