LANCASTER, PA — Fulton Bank, N.A., a subsidiary of Fulton Financial Corporation, has awarded $3,000 scholarships to Kailey Kasbeer-Betty and Yanwei Liu. The scholarships were granted by Fulton’s Women in Technology employee resource group, which aims to support women pursuing education in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM).
Kailey Kasbeer-Betty, from Ellicott City, Md., graduated from Glenelg High School. She will attend the University of South Florida to study electrical engineering. Yanwei Liu, from Hummelstown, Pa., graduated from Hershey High School and will pursue a degree in computer science at Cornell University.
“Fulton Bank is honored to award these scholarships to such dedicated individuals who are passionate in exploring education in the STEM field,” said Kelly Salvato, Information Technology Project Manager and Chairperson of Fulton’s Women in Technology group. “The mission of our group is to engage a diverse network of professionals to inspire, educate and connect women working on both the IT and business sides of technology.”
Applicants had to meet specific criteria to qualify for the scholarship. They needed to reside within Fulton Bank’s service area, be a high school senior, identify as female, and be accepted into a two-to-four-year undergraduate program in a STEM-related field.
Kasbeer-Betty and Liu stood out among many applicants, demonstrating a commitment to their education and a passion for their chosen fields. Their achievements and future endeavors embody the goals of Fulton’s Women in Technology group, which continues to foster and support the next generation of women in STEM.
