Frankford and Grant Avenues Face Lane Closures for Safety Upgrades

Traffic Restrictions

PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced forthcoming construction on Frankford Avenue (U.S. 13) and Grant Avenue in Philadelphia, marking a significant step in the local safety improvement initiative. This project aims to enhance pedestrian and vehicular safety by upgrading curbs and sidewalks along these vital thoroughfares.

Scheduled to commence on Monday, November 11, and extend through Friday, January 31, 2025, the construction will necessitate weekday lane closures from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. On Frankford Avenue, the northbound lane closure will stretch between Grant Avenue and Carteret Drive. Concurrently, Grant Avenue will see lane closures between U.S. 13 (Frankford Avenue) and Torresdale Avenue.

Motorists are advised to plan for additional travel time due to anticipated traffic disruptions and potential delays in the work zones. All construction activities are contingent upon favorable weather conditions.
