WILMINGTON, DE — Farmers of Salem, a Property and Casualty insurance provider, has long prioritized employee investment in the communities where they work and live. One shining example of this commitment to community service is Jenni Eber, Claims Customer Service Supervisor, who has combined her passion for helping others with a remarkable 20-year career at Farmers.
Jenni’s drive to make a difference is most visible through her work with Gallant Heart of NJ (GH), a nonprofit organization co-founded by her brother and Navy veteran, Glenn Cherry Jr. The mission of Gallant Heart is to create a supportive environment where veterans and first responders can connect, relax, and heal. The organization prioritizes providing cost-free leisure activities, fostering camaraderie, and addressing critical concerns such as veteran suicide prevention.
“My love language has always been Acts of Service,” explained Eber. “Being able to team up with my brother to support veterans and their well-being is truly meaningful for me.” Jenni currently serves as GH’s Chief Operating Officer and has been a driving force behind many of the nonprofit’s events and outreach efforts.
Creating a Legacy of Support
Since its founding in 2017, Gallant Heart has embraced its mission to honor and serve military veterans and first responders. Through social events and recreational activities, the organization seeks to build camaraderie and improve the quality of life for its participants. This year, one of their signature initiatives was the 2025 Wounded Veteran Pheasant Hunt. The all-inclusive event hosted 24 Purple Heart recipients and 100% disabled veterans, offering a weekend of outdoor therapy, hunting, and connection.
“All food, equipment, lodging, and travel were provided,” Jenni shared. “We see the therapeutic effects of the outdoors and the camaraderie as vital tools for healing and improving day-to-day life.”
The organization also works to inspire the next generation to continue acts of service. Eber’s 14-year-old daughter, Blair, and her field hockey teammates recently joined a Veterans picnic hosted by GH. The girls served meals, assisted veterans, and contributed to making the day special for all who attended. “It was very eye-opening for them,” said Jenni. “I’m incredibly grateful I could provide that opportunity for them to learn the value of service.”
A Career Built on Service
Jenni’s community efforts mirror her professional ethos at Farmers of Salem, where she started 20 years ago as a part-time clerk. Over the years, her career has evolved, culminating in her current role as Claims Customer Service Supervisor. Jenni now oversees property loss claims and manages Customer Service Representatives.
“I truly love my job,” Eber reflected. “Knowing that I’m helping people in their time of need is incredibly fulfilling. Acts of Service is my love language, and that’s what insurance is about at its core.”
For Jenni, Farmers of Salem’s culture of putting family first has been invaluable. The company’s flexibility has allowed her to balance work and life seamlessly, from raising a family to coaching youth sports for over two decades. “When I started at Farmers, I was a 24-year-old college student. Now I’m married with two beautiful kids and a career that allows me to prioritize my family while contributing in meaningful ways.”
A Shared Commitment
Farmers of Salem’s recognition of Jenni Eber and her work with Gallant Heart shines a light on the company’s values. By encouraging employees to engage in their communities, Farmers of Salem underscores how vital it is to give back, both personally and professionally. Eber’s story of service and commitment exemplifies what can be achieved when corporate values align with individual passion.
As she prepares to celebrate her 20-year milestone with Farmers later this year, Jenni’s impact on her community, family, and workplace continues to inspire those around her. Through her unwavering dedication, veterans, first responders, and neighbors alike have benefited profoundly from her efforts, reflecting both her generous spirit and the strong support of Farmers of Salem.
