Expect Delays in Bristol and Bensalem as Bridge Construction Continues on Newportville Road

Road Closed

BUCKS COUNTY, PA — Residents of Bristol and Bensalem townships, brace for a week of traffic disruptions. The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission has announced that ongoing bridge construction on Newportville Road will necessitate a week-long closure starting Monday, February 19.

Newportville Road will be closed around the clock from Zimmerman Lane to New Falls Road until Friday, February 23. During this period, motorists will be redirected to use Zimmerman Lane and New Falls Road.

Local access will be maintained up to the work zone, but drivers should prepare for significant delays. Traffic backups are expected near the construction area, and motorists are advised to factor in extra time when planning their routes. As always, these scheduled activities are weather dependent and subject to change.

The construction project falls under the purview of the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission and is being completed under a PennDOT Highway Occupancy Permit.

Stay tuned for further updates and remember to drive safely through work zones.
