PHILADELPHIA, PA — EwingCole received multiple accolades at the 2024 AIA Philadelphia Design Awards Celebration, recognizing the firm’s innovative contributions to the field of architecture. The event, hosted at the 2300 Arena in South Philadelphia, honors projects and individuals that exemplify excellence in design and innovation.
EwingCole was recognized in two categories for its groundbreaking projects. The Ballfield Road Campus – Lincoln Public Schools, a Net Zero-Ready K-18 school designed in collaboration with SMMA, earned a Merit Award in the Built category along with an additional distinction in Sustainability. The campus reimagines educational and athletic spaces with a focus on community engagement and environmental responsibility.
The firm also took home another Merit Award in the Built category for The Graham Athletics & Wellness Center at William Penn Charter School. This advanced facility blends athletic and wellness spaces to create a vibrant and inspiring environment for students.
Beyond its project awards, EwingCole’s Dan Brown, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C, was named the recipient of the 2024 AIA Philadelphia Young Architects Award. This prestigious honor celebrates registered architects between the ages of 25 and 39 who demonstrate exceptional leadership and contributions to practice and service in the profession.
“Through his professional projects and his role as an educator, Daniel strives to positively shape the built environment and inspire the next generation of architects to make a meaningful impact in their communities,” said AIA Philadelphia, praising Brown’s influence on the field.
Bob McConnell, President of EwingCole, reflected on the firm’s successes and emphasized the importance of collaboration. “These awards are a reflection of our mission and core values: ‘Our common vision is to transform everyday buildings and landscapes into meaningful experiences.’ Our team is deeply proud of these projects, which took a lot of collaboration and creativity and continue to positively impact communities through thoughtful design,” said McConnell.
The 2024 AIA Philadelphia Design Awards reaffirm EwingCole’s commitment to crafting innovative, sustainable, and community-centered designs that leave a lasting impact on both people and the environment.
