NEWTOWN, PA — EPAM Systems, Inc. (NYSE: EPAM) has announced the launch of its AI-powered DIAL Open Source Platform. This multi-modal, model-agnostic solution empowers developers to build custom applications, experiment with new use cases, and create innovative implementations.
The DIAL Platform is a highly adaptable tool designed with developers in mind, supporting a broad spectrum of applications across various industries. Currently, EPAM uses the platform in over 500 use cases, enhancing compatibility and user experience by simplifying interactions between different software applications developed by multiple vendors.
Elaina Shekhter, Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer at EPAM, praised the platform’s capabilities. “EPAM’s AI-powered DIAL Open Source Platform addresses the growth, governance, supervision, and unification of corporate LLM-centric ecosystems. Its readiness for immediate deployment showcases its practical application potential, and its monitoring and troubleshooting features make it an all-encompassing solution for developers working with APIs, user interfaces, and AI applications based on LLMs.”
Operating under the permissive Apache 2.0 license, the DIAL Platform encourages collaborative development and widespread adoption. Its open-source model promotes community contributions, supports both open-source and commercial use, provides legal clarity, and allows for the creation of derivative works. The platform is entirely containerized and Kubernetes-ready, operating production deployments with all major public cloud providers.
Ilya Gorelik, Head of EPAM’s Reliable AI Lab, emphasized the company’s commitment to open-source innovation. “The launch of our AI-powered DIAL Open Source Platform underscores our ongoing commitment to building a robust and advanced digital landscape. By embracing open source, we aim to widen access to innovative AI technologies to benefit both developers and end-users.”
In August 2023, EPAM unveiled its AI-powered DIAL Orchestration Platform, which combines the power of Large Language Models (LLMs) with deterministic code. This offers a secure, scalable, and customizable AI workbench to streamline and enhance AI-driven business solutions.
One of the platform’s first commercially deployed applications is EPAM’s StatGPT. As the first DIAL platform-enabled IP for LLM-powered solutions, StatGPT has improved accessibility to LLM-powered solutions within the industry. Developed by EPAM on the foundations of EPAM DIAL and QuantHub platforms, StatGPT was designed to automate the generation of SDMX (Statistical Data and Metadata eXchange) queries by utilizing the capabilities of LLMs. In October 2023, EPAM demonstrated SDMX’s utilization at the 9th Annual SDMX Global Conference in Manama, Bahrain.
