ELIZABETHTOWN, PA — Elizabethtown Borough and Pennsylvania State Police investigators are urgently seeking public assistance in locating a registered sex offender who has been charged with rape, aggravated assault, and related charges. The charges stem from an alleged incident that occurred on December 17, 2023, at approximately 8:05 a.m. in the 900 block of Hedgewyck Lane, Elizabethtown
According to authorities, Shane Kelec, a 38-year-old resident of the 1700 block of Stone Mill Road in Lancaster, is accused of raping and assaulting a victim in a brutal attack. The victim sustained severe injuries, including a broken nose, broken rib, subdermal hemorrhage/subdural hematoma, head laceration requiring nine stitches, and a skull fracture. Kelec is alleged to have fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle following the assault.
The incident came to light when a vigilant neighbor noticed unusual activity at the victim’s residence. The neighbor discovered the victim severely beaten on the floor after observing the garage door open and lights on inside the home. Authorities were alerted, leading to an investigation that ultimately resulted in charges being filed against Kelec.
Described as a 6-foot, 200-pound white male with brown eyes and brown hair, Shane Kelec is now considered a fugitive from justice.
