LANCASTER, PA — Ecore International, a leader in sustainable rubber recycling, has received a minority growth investment from General Atlantic’s BeyondNetZero climate growth fund. The funding will fuel Ecore’s growth initiatives, bolster its operations and technology, and accelerate its innovative circular economy strategies.
For over 150 years, Ecore has been transforming scrap tires into rubber surfacing and flooring products. Through its TRUcircularity program, the company not only reclaims waste tires but also recovers and repurposes its own products, creating a continuous loop for rubber reuse while keeping waste out of landfills.
Annually, Ecore reclaims over 430 million pounds of rubber waste, preventing 9.5 million pounds of CO2 emissions and operating zero-waste facilities certified by UL. Its product portfolio includes more than 1,500 offerings, such as Floorscore-certified flooring, IPEMA-certified playground materials, and athletic surfaces.
“We’re excited to partner with General Atlantic’s BeyondNetZero to further scale our vision of a circular economy for rubber materials,” said Art Dodge, CEO and Chairman of Ecore. “This investment will allow us to expand our reach, enhance technology, and drive innovation while reducing waste and improving our environmental impact.”
Ecore’s emphasis on sustainability was recently recognized when it was named a finalist for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s 2024 Citizens Awards for Best Sustainability Program. Recent acquisitions, such as Ameritread and 360 Tire Recycling Group, have expanded the company’s access to recycled materials and new technology, allowing Ecore to serve customers across more than 75 countries.
Michael Bevan, Managing Director at General Atlantic’s BeyondNetZero, praised Ecore’s role in addressing rubber waste. “Traditionally, end-of-life tires ended up in landfills, but Ecore has developed innovative ways to upcycle this waste into valuable products,” he said. “Their circular approach, combined with a strong commitment to sustainability, positions Ecore as a leader in the recycled rubber industry.”
With this investment, Ecore plans to continue innovating and expanding its reach, further establishing its leadership in sustainable waste management solutions while reducing environmental impacts globally.
