DELAWARE COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that Dynamic Message Sign (DMS) installation will begin next week on southbound Interstate 95 in Ridley Park Borough and Ridley Township. The project aims to enhance traffic communication and improve roadway safety.
Work is scheduled to take place from Monday, March 3, through Friday, March 14, during daytime and overnight hours. Daytime lane closures will occur between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, while nighttime closures are planned from Sunday, March 9, through Friday, March 14, between 9:00 PM and 5:00 AM. The construction area spans from the Ridley Park (Exit 8) interchange to the I-476 (Exit 7) interchange.
Motorists traveling through the work zone are advised to anticipate delays and allow extra time for their commutes, as lane restrictions may lead to significant traffic congestion. All activities are weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
The installation of the new signage is part of ongoing efforts to modernize infrastructure and provide motorists with real-time updates on traffic conditions, road hazards, and upcoming closures. Drivers are encouraged to remain cautious and adhere to posted traffic control measures while traveling in the area.
