LANCASTER, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is set to host a hiring event aimed at filling key positions for CDL operators and diesel equipment mechanics in Lancaster County. This initiative, scheduled for Tuesday, September 10, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, will take place at the Lancaster County Maintenance Office, located at 2105 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602.

The hiring fair offers prospective employees the chance to explore temporary and permanent roles within PennDOT. Available positions include CDL operators with a starting pay of $22.49 per hour, CDL Operator Trainees at $20.76 per hour, and diesel equipment mechanics earning $27.75 per hour. Applicants interested in CDL positions must possess a valid Pennsylvania CDL Class A or B license without an air brake restriction, along with a current medical examiner’s certificate.

Attendees can engage in on-the-spot applications, interviews, and driving skills tests. It is advised that applicants bring their current CDL license and medical examiner’s card to the event. For added convenience, PennDOT will provide laptops and staff to assist with the electronic application process.
