KING OF PRUSSIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has named Din Abazi as the new District Executive for its Engineering District 6, responsible for overseeing transportation infrastructure across Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties. Since 2023, Abazi has served as Senior Assistant District Executive for Maintenance within the same district.
In his new role, Abazi will spearhead the planning and supervision of the state highway system in an area that includes 3,553 miles of state highway and 2,760 bridges – a critical task for the region’s connectivity and economic vitality.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve as District Executive and lead our great organization in District 6,” Abazi stated. He expressed his commitment to ensuring the district’s transportation infrastructure remains reliable, sustainable, and equitable.
Abazi’s career at PennDOT District 6 began in 2005 as a Civil Engineer Trainee. Over the years, he climbed the ranks through dedication and expertise in various roles related to design and construction, notably within the bridge sector. His progression in the department underscores a deep understanding of the challenges and responsibilities associated with maintaining and enhancing the region’s transportation network.
A Drexel University graduate with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Abazi brings to his new position a wealth of experience and a vision for fostering robust infrastructure that meets the needs of the communities it serves.
