NEWTOWN TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced ongoing construction on Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Newtown Township, Delaware County. This work is part of a local safety improvement project.

From Tuesday, September 3, through Wednesday, October 30, lane closures are scheduled on weekdays between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Both directions of Route 3 will see closures between Boot Road and Bryn Mawr Avenue for curb and sidewalk reconstruction.

Motorists should plan for extra travel time due to anticipated backups and delays. As always, construction schedules are dependent on weather conditions. The project aims to enhance pedestrian safety and improve traffic flow along this crucial thoroughfare.
