DOYLESTOWN, PA — Delaware Valley University is expanding its offerings in the cannabis industry with the introduction of three non-credit certificate programs designed to prepare individuals for careers in this rapidly growing field. The programs are offered in partnership with Green Flower, a national leader in cannabis education, and will begin in February 2025.
The certificates, each lasting nine weeks and offered entirely online, aim to provide flexibility for participants. Students can learn at their own pace, with payment plan options available for each course. The programs include the following certificates, each priced at $799:
- Cannabis Cultivation Specialist: Focuses on cannabis industry knowledge and cultivation best practices for roles in grow operations or starting a cultivation business.
- Cannabis Retail Specialist: Prepares students for careers in cannabis retail, including dispensary work or entrepreneurship.
- Cannabis Extraction & Product Development Specialist: Provides skills for roles in the supply chain and product development sectors of the cannabis industry.
“Green Flower provides comprehensive educational content,” said Dr. Carla Garzon, K. H. Littlefield Endowed Professor of Plant Science. “I’m excited to see DelVal expand on its cannabis offerings with these flexible and affordable certificate programs. These certificates are a great way for individuals to enter or advance their careers in this rapidly growing industry.”
Graduates will gain a certificate of completion from DelVal, a digital credential shareable on professional platforms, and access to Green Flower’s exclusive employer network. Career opportunities include roles in grow operations, dispensaries, supply chain management, and more.
Daniel Kalef, Chief Growth Officer of Green Flower, praised the partnership. “These programs are uniquely tailored to meet the demands of a highly regulated industry, addressing critical areas such as material handling, patient care, security, and horticulture,” he said.
The new certificates complement DelVal’s current cannabis-related academic offerings, which include a Horticulture bachelor’s degree with a cannabis specialization and a one-year credit-based cannabis certificate.
