MEDIA, PA — Delaware County Council Chair Dr. Monica Taylor was recently joined by Vincent A. Rongione, Esq., the newly appointed Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans’ Court (ROW) for a formal Oath of Office ceremony. This event, hosted at the Delaware County Government Center, demonstrated Rongione’s commitment to the continued excellence of the ROW office.
The ceremony, punctuated by the solemn oath-taking of Chief Deputy Trish Hollabaugh, First Deputy Julie Everett, and Probate Clerks Geraldine Morris, Daniel Anderson, and Mary Melignano, signals a reaffirmed commitment to continue providing essential services to Delaware County with the utmost professionalism and integrity.
Rongione spoke of the team’s diligent work that navigates legal nuances of some of life’s most significant transitions. “Our team ensures these transitions are managed with utmost care, compassion, and integrity,” said Rongione. “Dr. Taylor’s presence underscores the importance of our office to County residents.”
The ROW Office’s role in guiding residents through life transitions – marriages, mortality, adoptions, guardianship, and filings with the Orphans’ Court Division – is pivotal, making it an indispensable resource for Delaware County residents. Their services, married with understanding and expertise, include anything from issuing marriage licenses to executing post-probate documentation.
The Deputies and Probate Clerks of the ROW, sworn to uphold the duties of both the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the United States Constitution, are crucial to the office’s effectiveness. These individuals administer oaths of office to executors and administrators, issue and prepare petitions for probate, evaluate wills, and ensure the legal processing of probate paperwork – all testament to the office’s commitment to the lawful and compassionate handling of estates.
Dr. Taylor praised the ROW employees, stating, “The compassion and dedication of the Register of Wills staff truly make a difference in our community, especially during life’s pivotal moments.”
The ROW office, with a dedicated staff of approximately 20, processes over 20,000 transactions annually, delivering over $2 million per year for the County. The last two fiscal years have seen over $3 million generated each year. Efficiency, compassion, and professionalism are the office’s hallmarks.
Residents in need of services can contact the office via phone at (610) 891-4400 or online at DelcoPA.Gov/ROW. The office is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for in-person services at the Government Center.
