PHILADELPHIA, PA — Coded by Kids is set for a new chapter in its journey with the appointment of Danae Mobley as its new CEO. The organization, which has grown exponentially since its inception in 2014, now works with over 2,000 students throughout the Philadelphia region.

Coded by Kids has become a beacon of hope in the city, offering advanced tech and entrepreneurship courses, internships, and system-level initiatives like 1Philadelphia. These efforts underline the organization’s commitment to making Philadelphia a hub of equitable tech and innovation.

Mobley, who previously held positions as the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Marketing Officer within the organization, brings a wealth of experience to her new role. Her career began in education, ranging from elementary school to graduate school, where she served as a lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania Weitzman School of Design.

Mobley’s expertise as an urban planner will provide valuable insights into the organization’s approach to community building and connecting with the city. “I am truly honored and excited to step into the role of CEO for an organization that I’ve watched grow and evolve,” Mobley said. “The foundation of this organization was built on strong vision and an unmatched belief in the potential of our young people. Mobley, who holds a Bachelor’s degree from Wake Forest University and a Master’s degree in Community and Regional Planning with a concentration in Urban Design from the University of Pennsylvania, also serves on the Board of Trustees for Independence Charter School in Center City Philadelphia.
