WEST READING, PA — Customers Bank, a key subsidiary of Customers Bancorp (NYSE: CUBI), is proactively enhancing its executive team to support ongoing deposit growth in its commercial and specialty banking areas. The bank has introduced a new executive position, Chief Banking Officer, appointing Lyle Cunningham, a seasoned company veteran, to the role. Cunningham, previously the Executive Vice President, Chief Lending Officer, and Head of Corporate and Specialized Banking, will now oversee all lending and deposit functions, leveraging nearly 40 years of industry experience.
Simultaneously, Customers Bank has appointed Nick Robinson as Chief Risk Officer. Robinson joins the bank from a leading U.S. financial institution, bringing over 25 years of experience in risk management, compliance, and operations. His role will involve identifying and mitigating risks, ensuring robust risk controls, and fostering a culture of risk awareness within the bank. Robinson will work closely with Joan Cheney, who has transitioned to the Deputy Chief Risk Officer role, to enhance the bank’s risk management capabilities.
