PHILADELPHIA, PA — Cuba Libre Restaurant & Rum Bar is celebrating a remarkable milestone this year, marking 25 years since the iconic brand debuted in Philadelphia. Known for its vibrant flavors and immersive Cuban experiences, the restaurant is honoring its silver anniversary by offering rollback pricing on classic dishes from its original 2000 menu and unveiling a limited-time 25th Anniversary Chef’s Tasting Menu.
“Keeping a restaurant concept fresh for 25 years is a really significant accomplishment,” said Barry Gutin, Principal and Co-Founder of Cuba Libre. “We decided to mark the occasion throughout the rest of the year by offering some of our most popular dishes from our original menu with pricing from when we launched in 2000.”
Rollback Pricing on Classic Favorites
Each month, starting in April, guests can enjoy specially selected menu items at their original 2000 prices. For example, April’s dishes will feature Chicharrones for $7.50, Arroz con Pollo for $16, and classic mojitos for just $8. Menu specials will rotate monthly through December 2025, adding a nostalgic element to the celebration. The anniversary menu items will be available Sunday through Thursday for guests with special 25th Anniversary dinner reservations at all four Cuba Libre locations.
A Culinary Journey through Cuba
For a premium experience, diners can indulge in the new 25th Anniversary Chef’s Tasting Menu, a four-course exploration of the best Cuban cuisine for $49 per person. The menu includes 10 dishes, such as the signature Cubano Pork Belly, Ropa Vieja, and Tres Leches Cake. Guests can also opt for a beverage pairing, featuring classic Cuban cocktails or non-alcoholic options, for an additional $20.
“$49 for a four-course, ten-item tasting menu is a really incredible value,” Gutin noted. “We’re hoping to see many familiar faces from the past 25 years and to welcome newcomers to enjoy this special tasting menu and help us celebrate our anniversary.”
A Legacy of Capturing Cuba’s Spirit
Since opening in Philadelphia in 2000, Cuba Libre has expanded to Atlantic City, NJ, Orlando, FL, and Washington, D.C., offering diners a “passport” to the vibrant flavors, culture, and spirit of Cuba. The restaurant’s name, which translates to “a free Cuba,” reflects its mission of celebrating Cuban heritage while offering a unique culinary and entertainment experience.
The brand’s culinary traditions, spearheaded by two-time James Beard Award-winner Guillermo Pernot until his retirement in 2023, remain a central part of its appeal. Now led by Culinary Directors Kevin Couch and Angel Roque, the menu continues to blend authentic Cuban traditions with modern influences.
With rollback pricing, special tasting menus, and its commitment to culinary excellence, Cuba Libre’s 25th anniversary promises to be a celebration as rich in flavor as the restaurant’s history.
