JOHNSTOWN, PA — Perry King, a 48-year-old resident of Johnstown, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to seven years in federal prison. This comes after his conviction on charges of conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute quantities of cocaine and crack cocaine.
United States Senior District Judge Kim R. Gibson handed down the sentence on February 8, 2024, which includes four years of supervised release following King’s imprisonment.
The court heard that between May and June 2021, King had conspired to distribute cocaine base, commonly known as “crack,” along with other detectable amounts of cocaine. Furthermore, evidence showed King was also in possession of crack with intent to distribute in October 2019 and January 2020, with the latter occasion involving 28 grams or more.
King’s illicit activities were unveiled when he was intercepted on a federal wiretap while obtaining quantities of cocaine and crack cocaine for distribution.
Assistant United States Attorney Maureen Sheehan-Balchon led the prosecution against King, who has now been successfully convicted and sentenced.
United States Attorney Olshan praised the combined efforts of several law enforcement agencies that led to King’s downfall. These included the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Laurel Highlands Resident Agency, Homeland Security Investigations, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Internal Revenue Service – Criminal Investigation, United States Postal Inspection Service, Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, Pennsylvania State Police, and several local police departments.
