Continued Roadway Construction on Route 3 in Newtown Township Expected to Cause Delays

Traffic Advisory

NEWTOWN TOWNSHIP, PA — Ongoing roadway construction on Route 3 (West Chester Pike) in Newtown Township, Delaware County, is set to continue next week, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. The work is part of a local safety improvement project aimed at enhancing road conditions and safety for all users.

From Monday, December 11, through Friday, December 15, lane closures are scheduled in both directions between Boot Road and Bryn Mawr Avenue. The closures will be in effect from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and again from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning. As a result, motorists should anticipate delays and backups when traveling through the work area.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time for their journeys or seek alternative routes if possible. The scheduled construction activities are dependent on weather conditions, meaning poor weather could lead to changes in the schedule.
