COLUMBIA, PA — A Columbia man has been charged with possession of a firearm prohibited. The Columbia Borough Police Department alleges that Joseph H. Baker Jr., 39, was found in possession of one or more firearms, an act he is legally barred from undertaking.

The incident reportedly took place on December 28, 2023, at around 9:50 am, in the 100 block of South Fifth Street in Columbia, PA. As a result of the incident, an officer with the Columbia Borough Police Department has filed charges against Baker.

Illegal firearm possession continues to be a pressing issue in communities across Pennsylvania, often associated with other forms of criminal activity and posing a risk to public safety. However, it’s important to note that these are mere allegations at this point. An arrest or a criminal complaint is not indicative of guilt. Every suspect, including Baker, is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
