KUTZTOWN, PA — Clarenda “Farmer Cee” Stanley, founder and CEO of Green Heffa Farms in North Carolina, has been named the first-ever recipient of The Good Farmer Award U.S., recognizing her outstanding contributions to regenerative organic agriculture. The award, launched by Davines Group and Rodale Institute, celebrates farmers who integrate environmental stewardship with community impact.

“Farmer Cee embodies the bold and purposeful spirit of regenerative organic agriculture,” said Jeff Tkach, CEO of Rodale Institute. “Her work at Green Heffa Farms is transforming her land and inspiring a new generation of farmers.”

Through Green Heffa Farms, a certified B Corporation, Stanley cultivates organic medicinal herbs and teas while mentoring beginning farmers, particularly those from historically marginalized communities. Her efforts highlight sustainable farming practices that enhance biodiversity while fostering economic and social equity.

The award includes $10,000 from Davines North America, which Stanley plans to invest in further advancing her agroecological practices. It also includes an all-expenses-paid trip to the Davines Group’s European Regenerative Organic Center in Parma, Italy.

Stanley expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, “This is for every farmer out here doing the work, honoring the land, and building something that’s bigger than a bottom line. Green Heffa Farms was never just about crops — it’s always been about cultivating change.”

Stanley’s recognition was part of an Earth Day celebration in Brooklyn, N.Y., which highlighted finalists making significant strides in regenerative agriculture, emphasizing the diverse voices and approaches reshaping sustainable farming.
