WILMINGTON, DE — The ChristianaCare Health System and ChristianaCare Health Services boards, pillars of healthcare services in Delaware, have ushered in fresh thinking and innovative leadership with the recent appointments of several distinguished community members. Their newest recruits, Chip Rossi and Paula Swain, are set to join an extensive network of healthcare professionals dedicated to enhancing public health.
Rossi – the president of Bank of America Delaware – and Swain – executive vice president at Incyte – bring with them a wealth of experience and an unwavering commitment to serve the community. Rossi is also on the board of various organizations, including the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce and the Grand Opera House. Simultaneously, Swain is chair and secretary of the Incyte Charitable Giving Foundation and a board member of the Delaware BioScience Association.
These appointments underscore the commitment of ChristianaCare, one of the nation’s leading healthcare organizations, to drive innovation and transformation in the sector. The move is expected to hasten its pursuit of equitable healthcare access, as well as its workforce’s dedication to delivering high-quality care to Delaware residents.
Other noteworthy appointments include Dr. Barbara J. Albani, ChristianaCare’s medical director of NeuroInterventional Surgery, and Morgan Miller, executive director of the Cecil County Public Library system. Albani and Miller, now part of the Health Services Board, will serve as ex officio members. Rita Landgraf, a faculty member at the University of Delaware’s College of Health Sciences, also joins the Health Services Board, bringing forth her experience in mental health advocacy.
Lolita Lopez, former president and CEO of Westside Family Healthcare, was named the chair of the Health Services Board. She is set to leverage her 33 years of experience at Westside Family Healthcare to ensure that ChristianaCare continues to deliver the highest quality and safest care possible. Meanwhile, Tom Moore, having served W.L. Gore & Associates, now fills the vice chair’s shoes on the Health Services Board and chairs the ChristianaCare Quality and Safety committee.
With this new leadership in place, ChristianaCare stands poised to continue its mission of improving the health of its neighbors, while also providing leadership at a time when the healthcare industry is undergoing significant change. This is something to watch closely, as these new leaders could potentially shape the healthcare landscape in the area and beyond. They join at a pivotal time for the organization, which is looking to not only improve existing services, but also explore new opportunities for growth and improvement.
All in all, these appointments bring together a variety of perspectives and skills, and the positions these professionals hold outside of ChristianaCare make this leadership team a force to reckon with. As a community, we look forward to the strides they will make in improving our health outcomes, reducing healthcare costs, and ensuring the highest quality of care.
