Centerville Road Interchange Project to Bring Traffic Restrictions in East Hempfield Township

Traffic Alert

EAST HEMPFIELD TWP, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced that next week, traffic restrictions will be implemented as part of the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement Project in East Hempfield Township, Lancaster County.

On Monday, March 4, weather permitting, northbound traffic on Centerville Road near the ramp to eastbound Route 30 will be rerouted to facilitate guiderail repairs. This work is scheduled to take place between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. While southbound Centerville Road traffic will not be directly affected, flaggers will be present to guide truck traffic making turns at the ramp, which could potentially cause some delays.

The following day, Tuesday, March 5, there will be a left lane restriction in place on eastbound Route 30 at the Centerville Road overpass for median attenuator repairs. The work will be performed during the early morning hours, from 3:00 AM to 6:00 AM. Motorists are advised to stay alert, drive with caution, and be prepared for slow-moving traffic during these times.

These traffic modifications are part of a larger initiative: the Centerville Road Interchange Improvement project. This comprehensive project includes structure replacement, Superpave overlay, base replacement, roadway widening, milling, guiderail improvements, drainage improvements, pavement markings, ADA improvements, traffic signal improvements, and other miscellaneous construction.

The scope of the project extends from Cornerstone Drive to Marietta Avenue (Route 23) on Centerville Road, and from Centerville Road to Stony Battery Road on Marietta Avenue. Though primarily located in East Hempfield Township, the segment from Cornerstone Drive to Columbia Avenue falls within Manor Township.
