PHILADELPHIA, PA — As the festive season approaches, the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market is set to transform Dilworth Park into a vibrant hub of holiday cheer, celebrating its 10th anniversary with expanded offerings and a captivating atmosphere. From November 15, 2024, through January 1, 2025, the market will offer extended hours, inviting visitors to enjoy the festive ambiance and shop for unique, handcrafted gifts from over 40 talented local artisans and crafters.
Located at 1 S. 15th Street, the market’s elegant white wooden booths, adorned with radiant Moravian stars, create a picturesque setting that enhances the holiday spirit. Each booth presents a curated selection of handmade holiday decorations, gifts, home goods, apparel, and specialty treats, providing an ideal shopping experience for those seeking to find distinctive presents beyond the typical mall offerings.
The market’s extended late-night hours, introduced last year due to popular demand, allow visitors to shop amidst thousands of twinkling lights, creating a magical evening experience. Running from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and until 9:00 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, the market also opens on Thanksgiving Day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and closes early on Christmas Eve at 5:00 p.m.
Visitors will find an array of vendors offering everything from artisanal jewelry by Lily Lough Jewelry to gourmet cookies by Swan Delectables. Specialty foodies can indulge in the flavors of JD’s House of Bacon and Cannoli Cafe, while art enthusiasts can explore striking pieces by Eric Ajama and Spector Sports Art.
The market complements other seasonal attractions in the area, including the Rothman Ice Rink and Wintergarden at Dilworth Park, and is part of a broader holiday celebration that includes the Christmas Village in Philadelphia. Together, these events feature over 160 vendors and transform Center City into a winter wonderland, drawing over a million visitors each year.
Families are encouraged to enjoy the North Apron and City Hall Courtyard, where the Christmas Village Ferris Wheel, Carousel, and Kids Train presented by SEPTA await to delight children and adults alike. It’s important to note that the Christmas Village operates on separate dates, with a preview on November 23 and 24, and officially opens on Thanksgiving Day, closing on Christmas Eve.
As always, the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market remains free of charge and open to the public, making it a perfect destination for families and holiday enthusiasts of all ages. For those looking to avoid the weekend crowds, weekday visits are recommended to fully enjoy the market’s offerings in a more relaxed setting.
Join in the celebration of local craftsmanship and experience the joy of the season at the Made in Philadelphia Holiday Market, where the magic of the holidays comes alive in the heart of the city.
