PHILADELPHIA, PA — This spring, Dilworth Park transforms into a shopper’s paradise with the return of the Philadelphia Marketplace, the ultimate destination for artisan goods from the tri-state area. From May 3 through June 29, 2024, every Friday and Saturday, the park will buzz from noon to 6:00 pm with the energy of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware’s finest small businesses.
The Marketplace, presented by the organizers of the cherished Christmas Village in partnership with Center City District, offers an exciting opportunity to support local makers and crafters. Visitors can expect a vibrant selection of handmade artwork, home decor, plants, and so much more, set against the lively backdrop of Dilworth Park’s fountains and the added fun of roller skating activities.
CEO Thomas Bauer shares his enthusiasm: “The Philadelphia Marketplace not only kicks off the weekend right but also brings a spotlight to the incredible talent within our local communities. It’s the perfect spot to find unique gifts while enjoying the beautiful setting of Center City.”
With no entry fee and a family-friendly atmosphere, this pay-as-you-go shopping experience promises something for everyone. The Marketplace prides itself on providing a platform for local entrepreneurs, with fan favorites like Lily Lough Jewelry, Plant and People, Old City Canning Co., and Skyseed making regular appearances. Yet, with an evolving list of vendors, each visit offers a new discovery.
In a special highlight for 2024, the Marketplace will broaden its horizons with an increased focus on plants and produce vendors. Whether you’re on the hunt for fresh flowers to brighten your home or seeking out new houseplants to add to your collection, the array of up to 20 different vendors each weekend ensures a bounty of greenery and more.
Nestled on the west side of City Hall Philadelphia, Dilworth Park serves as the perfect venue for this seasonal pop-up market, marrying the allure of open-air shopping with the convenience of a central location. Mark your calendars for the first weekend in May and make plans to immerse yourself in the creative spirit of the Philadelphia Marketplace. Discover the joy of supporting small businesses while soaking in the vibrant atmosphere of one of the city’s most beloved outdoor spaces. See you there!
