CHESAPEAKE CITY, MD — The Cecil Leadership Institute honored the impressive graduating class of 2024 during a festive banquet held on Wednesday, May 15, at the Chesapeake Inn Restaurant and Marina in Chesapeake City, MD. This year marks one of the largest cohorts in the institute’s 24-year history, with 22 graduates.

The Cecil Leadership Institute fosters collaboration among business, government, and tourism leaders dedicated to the ongoing development of Cecil County. Through this unique program, participants gain diverse perspectives on community growth and prosperity while sharing best practices and expanding their professional networks.

Cecil College President Mary Way Bolt and Dean of Continuing Education and Workforce Development Dr. Miles Dean inspired the graduates with their words. Colonel Philip J. Mundweil, Commander of the U.S. Army Garrison at Aberdeen Proving Ground, delivered a compelling keynote address.

Over the course of the 15-week program, participants engaged with leaders from prominent organizations such as Northrop Grumman, Deep Roots at Clairvaux Farm, Great Wolf Lodge and Resort, and Wildcat Point Generation Facility. This immersive experience equips them with the skills and knowledge needed to lead Cecil County into a vibrant future.
