ELKTON, MD — The Cecil County Council, during its legislative session on August 20, 2024, enacted significant resolutions aimed at enhancing county services and infrastructure. Resolution 36-2024 confirmed the reappointment of Bay Area Inspection Agency and American Inspection Agency, Inc. as the designated electrical inspection agencies for the county. Their term is set to expire on July 31, 2025, ensuring continuity in electrical safety standards.

In another decisive move, the council approved Resolution 37-2024, a supplemental appropriation for the fiscal year 2025. This resolution amends the annual budget to allocate an additional $100,600 from the General Fund Balance to the Board of Education. The funds are designated to complete the water line replacement project at Rising Sun High School. Initially budgeted for fiscal year 2024, the project faced delays, necessitating this financial adjustment.

These actions aim to maintain infrastructure and educational facilities, reflecting a proactive approach to community needs. Copies of the resolutions are accessible on the Cecil County Government website and at the County Administration Building in Elkton.
