PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia (CFGP) is hosting its annual Women in Philanthropy Forum, a networking event dedicated to amplifying the voices of women in the nonprofit sector. The forum is scheduled for Wednesday, November 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Drexelbrook Catering & Event Center.
Sarah Hanley, President and CEO of The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia (CFGP), expressed excitement at hosting the Women in Philanthropy Forum once more. She emphasized the forum’s role as a platform for women to network, work together, and create significant community impact. Hanley also highlighted the power of women uniting for change, guided by their faith.
This year’s forum will feature a panel discussion with some of the region’s most influential female philanthropists and nonprofit leaders. The esteemed panelists include Meghan Cokeley, Director of the Office for the New Evangelization, Sister Isabella Davila, Behavioral Health Coordinator at Face to Face Germantown, Sarah O. Hanley, President and CEO at CFGP, Barb Riley, President of the Riley Family Foundation, and Barbara Rose, Certified Fertility Care Practitioner and Nurse Practitioner.
The panel will be moderated by Dr. Laura Sicola, Founder of Vocal Impact Productions, a leadership communication and influence expert, speaker, and author.
- Meghan Cokeley: Director of the Office for the New Evangelization. Her responsibilities encompass guiding and supporting over 200 Catholic parishes in adult faith formation and evangelization in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. She holds a B.A. in Theology and a Master of Theological Studies degree from the University of Notre Dame. In 2019, she was awarded the Benemerenti Medal from Pope Francis for her exceptional service to the Church.
- Sister Isabella Davila, DC: Behavioral Health Coordinator at Face to Face Germantown. As a daughter of charity of St. Vincent de Paul, Sister Bella serves those experiencing or at risk of homelessness and/or living in deep poverty. Her role includes providing counseling, support groups and referrals to mental health services in the greater Philadelphia area.
- Sarah O. Hanley: President and Chief Executive Officer at CFGP. With over 25 years of business development and leadership experience, Sarah has been with the Foundation since its founding in 2013. Under her leadership, CFGP manages a network of over 130 charitable funds with more than 16,000 donors, distributing over $17 million to various Catholic organizations in the last fiscal year alone.
- Barb Riley: President of the Riley Family Foundation. Barb’s philanthropic organization focuses on providing financial resources to Catholic charities across a wide array of services. She also served for seven years as a member of the Board of Trustees for the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur in Villanova, PA.
- Barbara Rose: Certified Fertility Care Practitioner and Nurse Practitioner. Barbara is dedicated to women’s health and well-being, earning accolades such as the Fertility Care Practitioner of the Year award from the American Academy of Fertility Care Professionals and the James D. Kelly Pioneer Award.
- Dr. Laura Sicola (Moderator): Founder of Vocal Impact Productions. As a leadership communication and influence expert, speaker, and author, Dr. Sicola has trained and coached executives at organizations like Comcast, IBM, and the U.S. Department of Commerce. Her TEDx talk, “Want to Sound Like a Leader? Start by Saying Your Name Right,” has garnered over 6.2 million views.
The event brings together female business leaders, nonprofit professionals, and philanthropists and aims to provide a platform for discussion on the role and impact of women in the philanthropic sector.
The CFGP also announced that this year’s 2023 Women in Philanthropy Leadership Fund grant recipient is Gianna Center of Philadelphia, an organization providing gynecologic care, natural family planning education, and infertility services.
The Women in Philanthropy Forum is part of CFGP’s ongoing commitment to support and elevate the work of women in the nonprofit and philanthropic sectors. This initiative aligns with CFGP’s mission to distribute funds to various Catholic organizations, with over $17 million distributed in the last fiscal year alone.
By bringing together these influential leaders, the Women in Philanthropy Forum hopes to inspire and empower more women to take on leadership roles in philanthropy and the nonprofit sector.
