SPRING HOUSE, PA — The Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) has granted seven-year reaccreditations to Tulane University’s Celia Scott Weatherhead School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine and Governors State University’s Master of Health Administration (MHA) programs. Additionally, King Abdulaziz University’s Executive Master of Health Administration (EMHA) program has earned initial accreditation, making it the first program outside North America to receive this recognition.

At Tulane, Dean Dr. Thomas A. LaVeist praised the faculty and staff for their efforts. “I am extraordinarily proud of the Health Policy and Management team who led the reaccreditation process,” he said, highlighting the program’s history as one of the first MHA offerings established more than 50 years ago. Department Chair Dr. Arthur Mora noted the program’s dual focus on foundational knowledge and innovation. “Our program provides a solid grounding in the field while exposing students to innovative ideas and leadership pathways,” he said.

Governors State University’s MHA reaccreditation also underscores a commitment to impactful education. “The rigorous curriculum prepares students to be effective healthcare management professionals,” said Dr. Ning Lu, Chair of the Department of Health Administration. He emphasized the program’s mission of empowering underserved communities. Molor-od Oyunkhand, a recent graduate, expressed her gratitude, stating, “The program’s comprehensive curriculum and hands-on opportunities have equipped me with the skills and confidence to excel in healthcare administration.”

King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia celebrated its groundbreaking achievement. Prof. Hussein Borai, former program director and department chairman, reflected on the EMHA program’s legacy. “This prestigious recognition reflects our commitment to excellence in health administration education and preparing leaders to shape the future of global healthcare,” he said.

These accreditations demonstrate a shared commitment to advancing healthcare education and developing future leaders in the industry.
