LANCASTER, PABurnham Holdings, Inc. has announced plans to wind down production at its Crown Boiler facility in Philadelphia, a move aimed at optimizing operations and aligning with the growing demand for energy-efficient heating solutions.

The transition is part of a broader strategy to enhance manufacturing efficiency and quality control across the company’s operations. By consolidating production at its Lancaster facility, Burnham Holdings seeks to streamline operations and better meet shifting market demands.

“This is a strategic step forward in optimizing our manufacturing operations to strengthen long-term efficiency, resilience, and customer value,” said Chris Drew, President and CEO of Burnham Holdings. “We recognize that this transition impacts our employees, and we are committed to supporting them with empathy and transparency throughout this process.”

The decision reflects changing consumer preferences toward high-efficiency condensing boilers, such as U.S. Boiler’s Alta and Velocity’s Phantom II models. Consolidating production will allow the company to focus on these in-demand, environmentally sustainable products while improving integration and standardization across its subsidiaries. Velocity brand products will remain available in the market.

Burnham Holdings has pledged to support affected employees during the facility’s gradual wind-down over the coming months. This includes offering relocation opportunities, outplacement services, and other transitional resources. The company also emphasized its commitment to managing all asset transfers responsibly and at fair market value.

The decision aligns with Burnham Holdings’ dedication to delivering high-performance, energy-efficient heating solutions that support global carbon reduction efforts while positioning the company for future growth and innovation.
