BUCKS COUNTY, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced an upcoming resurfacing project aimed at enhancing the road conditions in Bucks County. This initiative, scheduled to commence on Sunday, September 29, will involve extensive micro-surfacing operations across several key routes and necessitate a series of lane closures.
From September 29 through October 5, drivers should anticipate moving lane closures on U.S. 13 (Bristol Pike). These closures will extend from the Frankford Avenue bridge over the Poquessing Creek to 500 feet west of Route 413 (Veterans Highway) in both Bensalem and Bristol townships. The work will take place daily from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM and then again from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning.
Concurrently, Knights Road in Bensalem Township will experience similar moving lane closures between Route 132 (Street Road) and the Philadelphia County line. These closures are also scheduled for the same hours and dates as the Bristol Pike operations.
Looking ahead, from Monday, October 7, through Friday, October 18, Curly Hill Road in Plumstead Township will be closed on weekdays for milling and paving activities. The closure will occur between Route 611 (Easton Road) and Route 413 (Durham Road), with motorists advised to utilize Route 413, Stump Road, and Route 611 as detour routes to navigate around the work zone. Despite the closure, local access will remain available to residents and businesses.
PennDOT urges motorists to plan ahead and allow for additional travel time when passing through these areas, as traffic backups and delays are expected. It is important to note that all scheduled operations are subject to weather conditions and may be adjusted accordingly.
