The report highlights key achievements made in fiscal 2023 across three main areas: environmental, social, and governance.

Environmental Stewardship

BrightView established a baseline Scope 1 & 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory, a critical step in understanding and reducing its carbon footprint. The company has also been progressively replacing its fleet with electric and fuel-efficient alternatives. By the end of fiscal 2023, 17% of its vehicles were hybrid or electric.

Furthermore, BrightView continued its conversion of gas-powered landscaping equipment to electric power, deploying an additional 480 battery-powered handheld units, 200 electric/hybrid vehicles, and 80 electric mowers.

Social Responsibility

BrightView demonstrated its commitment to workforce diversity and safety. The company not only diversified its workforce but also maintained a total recordable injury rate below the landscaping industry average, emphasizing that safety remains a top priority.

The BrightView Landscapes Foundation raised over $160,000 to support team members in critical situations. Additionally, team members contributed over 550 volunteer hours through the company’s Volunteer Time Off program.
