PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has scheduled a bridge inspection on Sunday, January 5, requiring the closure of the westbound Interstate 76 ramp to eastbound I-676 in Philadelphia. The closure will be in effect from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
During the inspection period, motorists traveling westbound on I-76 are advised to follow the detour via the Girard Avenue/Philadelphia Zoo Interchange and eastbound I-76 to reach their destinations. Traffic delays and backups are anticipated, and drivers are urged to allow additional travel time.
PennDOT notes that all operations are weather dependent, and any changes to the schedule will be communicated as necessary. Motorists are reminded to exercise caution when navigating detour routes and nearby work zones.
