AMBLER, PA — Bradford White Corporation is strengthening its collaboration with Pennsylvania’s Energy Coordinating Agency (ECA) for the third year, advancing training in heat pump technology to prepare for growing market demand.
The partnership, supported by a $50,000 grant from Bradford White’s Industry Forward® program, will scale ECA’s Internship Program for HVACR heat pump trainees. Launched in 2024, the program has already trained 15 interns and completed nine heat pump water heater installations this year, with ten more expected before year-end. ECA aims to expand the program to 45 students in 2025, continuing its focus on workforce development for the skilled trades.
Rebecca Owens, senior communications manager at Bradford White, emphasized the importance of this collaboration. “Each student that goes through the program is helping to build the next generation of plumbing and HVACR technicians,” she said.
Bradford White first partnered with ECA in 2022, contributing a $30,000 grant and ten AeroTherm® heat pump water heaters. These efforts have supported ECA’s training initiatives and provided energy-efficient solutions to families in need through the Philadelphia Water Heater Emergency Fund.
“ECA is proud to continue our partnership with Bradford White Corporation,” said Steve Luxton, CEO of ECA. He highlighted the dual impact of the training program, which equips students with valuable skills for employment while fostering confidence and a sense of giving back to the community.
Through this partnership, Bradford White Corporation and ECA are not only addressing the rising demand for energy-efficient technology but also building a pipeline of skilled technicians to sustain the HVACR industry’s future.
