AMBLER, PA — Bradford White Corporation has renewed its commitment to closing the technical talent gap by partnering for a second year with Explore The Trades, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness about careers in the skilled trades. This collaboration aims to educate young students in the U.S. and Canada about the opportunities in plumbing, heating, cooling, and electrical trades.
The partnership is backed by a $17,000 grant from Bradford White’s Industry Forward® program. The funds will help expand Explore The Trades’ poster kit program, which has already reached over 700,000 students and distributed more than 3,500 kits across North America since mid-2021. This expansion includes translating the kits into Spanish and creating an infographic series for children aged 5-11.
Kate Cinnamo, Executive Director of Explore The Trades, emphasized the importance of reaching diverse student populations. “This expansion will give us the opportunity to connect with Spanish-speaking and English as a second language learners, which is so important with the K-12 Hispanic student population in the United States growing to nearly 30%,” she said. “Bradford White’s support helps us reach this new audience, as well as introduce young learners to the trades in a simple, friendly way.”
Bradford White’s Industry Forward® is committed to advancing education about the skilled trades. Rebecca Owens, Senior Communications Manager at Bradford White, highlighted the significance of this effort: “Introducing the career and financial opportunities that exist within the skilled trades to today’s youth is a vital component when it comes to staffing these essential positions in the future. We applaud organizations like Explore The Trades for ensuring that introduction is happening.”
Through these combined efforts, Bradford White and Explore The Trades are not only promoting awareness but also paving the way for future professionals in the trades industry, ensuring communities continue to benefit from essential services.
