AMBLER, PA — Bradford White Corporation has announced it is providing strategic in-kind grant funding to the Center for Employment Training (CET), a national nonprofit technical training school.
The grant falls under the umbrella of Bradford White’s signature charitable giving initiative, Industry Forward®. It includes the purchase of nine 50-gallon AeroTherm® heat pump water heaters, which CET will use at nine of its training centers across northern and southern California.
These energy-efficient water heaters will serve as hands-on teaching tools for CET students, allowing them to gain practical experience with this increasingly important technology. As part of the workforce education grant, Bradford White training experts will also provide both in-person and online instruction to CET students throughout the year.
Rebecca Owens, Senior Manager of Communications for Bradford White, expressed the company’s commitment to supporting organizations like CET that are creating a pipeline of skilled workers in the United States. “Through Industry Forward®, we are providing these heat pump water heaters and offering CET students new opportunities to gain critical skills in heat pump technology,” she said. “This hands-on, real-world learning will prepare them to compete for good-paying jobs.”
The grant will enable CET to expand its training program capacity. The organization is focused on growing programs in high-demand, high-paying careers, aiming to provide economic advancement opportunities to populations that have historically been marginalized and overlooked.
Senobio Aguilera, Instructional Resource Coordinator and Trainer with CET, expressed gratitude for Bradford White’s generosity. “Thanks to this donation, we can offer essential training in heat pump technology, which holds incredible promise in the energy efficiency arena,” he said. “Our students will acquire key skills using the latest industry-relevant equipment, enhancing their competitiveness in the workforce upon graduation.”
The heat pumps will be installed at nine CET schools across California, including Coachella, Colton, El Centro, Oxnard, San Diego, San Jose, Santa Maria, Soledad, and Watsonville. Here, students will learn safety, basic electricity, equipment and plumbing/HVAC maintenance, repair, and more.
Bradford White’s partnership with CET is part of a broader commitment to promoting the importance of skilled trades and the role that industry professionals play in the health, safety, sanitation, and infrastructure of their communities. Through strategic grant funding, the company supports workforce development training and education programs and industry career opportunities, events, and partnerships.
This collaboration between Bradford White and CET is a prime example of how corporations can contribute to the growth of sustainable technology and the development of a skilled workforce. By providing practical, hands-on training with advanced equipment, these initiatives prepare future workers for success in an evolving and competitive industry.
