Carofano will collaborate closely with Founder and CEO Alice Bast to set the organization’s vision and oversee its strategic direction. Her new role will focus on the execution of Beyond Celiac’s long-term mission, as well as managing day-to-day operations to enhance organizational efficiency.

During her tenure as Vice President of Partnerships & Network Engagement at Beyond Celiac, she spearheaded the development of the Beyond Celiac Coalition. This initiative united academia, government agencies, and pharmaceutical and biotech leaders to address critical barriers in diagnosing and treating celiac disease.
Carofano later served as Chief Advancement Officer and Chief Operating Officer, playing a key role in expanding the organization’s capacity. Her strategic leadership has strengthened Beyond Celiac’s ability to tackle persistent challenges for those living with celiac disease.
