WYOMISSING, PA — In a recent effort to combat the illegal sex trade in Berks County, Percival Williams, 46, was arrested on various charges related to prostitution following an undercover operation by the Berks County District Attorney’s Human Trafficking Task Force and the Spring Township Police Department.

The operation took place on January 29, 2024. Detectives posted advertisements on websites known for their use in sexual transactions. The defendants responded to these advertisements, agreeing to meet and engage in sexual activities with individuals they believed to be 14-15-year-old juveniles in exchange for money at undisclosed locations within Berks County.

Williams was subsequently arrested at 21 Meridian Boulevard, Wyomissing, PA. He is facing charges of promoting prostitution, owning a house of prostitution, encouraging prostitution, and transporting a person within the Commonwealth for prostitution.

It’s crucial to remember that these are allegations, and an arrest does not indicate guilt. All suspects, including Williams, are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court. This case serves as a potent reminder of the ongoing efforts by local law enforcement to combat human trafficking and illegal sex trade in the community.
