PHILADELPHIA, PA — Axalta Coating Systems Ltd. (NYSE: AXTA) has announced the appointment of Tim Bowes as President of Global Industrial Coatings, effective January 27, 2025. Bowes succeeds Shelley Bausch, who is stepping down from her role.
Bowes currently serves as Axalta’s Senior Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer, where he has been instrumental in shaping the company’s strategy and advancing operational excellence. His extensive career includes leadership positions across industrial and automotive sectors. Before joining Axalta, he held key roles at Meritor, serving as Senior Vice President and President of Electrification, Industrial, Aftermarket, Purchasing & Supply Chain. He has also led the Casting business unit at American Axle & Manufacturing and served as CEO and President of Transtar Industries.
Bowes brings a global business perspective, with experience living and working in Asia and Europe. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Wayne State University and a bachelor’s degree from Lawrence Technological University.
“Tim brings a wealth of experience to this role with his extensive background in managing industrial businesses across a number of industries and regions. He has played an important role in Axalta’s transformation over the past two years,” said Chris Villavarayan, Axalta’s Chief Executive Officer and President.
