PHILADELPHIA, PA — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) has announced upcoming resurfacing activities on key Philadelphia roadways, aimed at enhancing driving conditions.

Scheduled for Monday, September 23, and Tuesday, September 24, these projects will necessitate alternating lane closures on Broad Street (Route 611) between Penn Square and Oregon Avenue from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning to facilitate paving operations. Concurrently, a lane closure will occur on Route 291, Penrose Avenue, between Island Avenue and the George C. Platt Bridge for high friction surface treatment during the same hours.

Motorists are urged to anticipate delays and allocate additional travel time when navigating these areas. All planned activities are contingent on favorable weather conditions. For ongoing updates and detailed traffic information, please visit the MyChesCo Traffic Center.
