CLAYMONT, DE — Delaware State Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery that took place at a CVS pharmacy in Claymont Friday evening.
The incident occurred on March 8, 2024, at approximately 7 p.m., at the CVS located at 702 Naamans Road. According to preliminary findings, an unidentified male suspect entered the store brandishing a firearm. He then jumped over the counter and demanded drugs from the pharmacist on duty. However, as the pharmacist was attempting to unlock the safe, the suspect abruptly fled the scene without taking anything.
The suspect is described as a black male dressed in a gray hoodie, dark pants, and dark shoes. Surveillance footage or images of the individual were not available at the time of the report.
Detectives from the Delaware State Police Troop 2 Criminal Investigations Unit are currently leading the investigation into this incident.
