Arcadia University Welcomes UArts Students with Streamlined Transfer Process

Arcadia University

GLENSIDE, PAArcadia University has signed a teach-out agreement with the University of the Arts (UArts) to facilitate a seamless transfer process for UArts students. This new agreement, signed on June 17, aims to support students in their academic transition without disrupting their educational progress.

Arcadia’s programs in Visual and Performing Arts, Creative Writing, and Art Education offer personalized attention characteristic of a small school. These programs provide hands-on studio art, theater, music, and study abroad opportunities. The Arcadia community values authenticity and champions justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Under the new agreement, UArts students transferring to Arcadia will have all their credits accepted for corresponding programs. Arcadia will waive application fees and ensure no increase in out-of-pocket costs. Additionally, the university will assist with SEPTA costs for Philadelphia commuters and guarantee that students complete their bachelor’s degrees on their original timelines. Portfolio review and audition requirements will also be waived.

“The close-knit community of supportive fellow students, faculty, and staff are here to welcome and support UArts students,” said June Lee, Department Chair of the Visual and Performing Arts at Arcadia University. “With a wide range of resources and opportunities we offer, students can pursue their artistic passion and find a new academic and creative home at Arcadia University.”

Arcadia encourages first-year and transfer students to explore the various options and support services available. To aid in the transition, Arcadia has set up a dedicated email (UArts@arcadia.edu) and hotline (267-957-ARTS) for UArts students. The university will also host a series of information sessions and visit days throughout the summer to help students learn more about the transfer process.
