WILMINGTON, DE — The Apache Software Foundation (ASF) has announced the release of Apache CloudStack® v4.19, the latest version of its open-source cloud computing software. This full-featured Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) solution is designed to simplify the creation, management, and deployment of infrastructure cloud services.
CloudStack 4.19 offers an alternative to complex vendor-driven solutions and expensive licensing, making it an attractive option for cloud providers and builders. As an open-source platform, it provides Cloud Service Providers (CSPs) and Managed Service Providers (MSPs) with long-term reliability and predictability.
Abhishek Kumar, 4.19 Release Manager and PMC member, praised the community’s collaborative effort in developing this release. “The release process has been a year-long collaborative effort involving over 40 contributors. This collaborative endeavor has culminated in a feature-rich and stable 4.19 release,” said Kumar.
CloudStack 4.19 comes packed with 314 new features, improvements, and bug fixes. Key highlights include VMware to KVM migration, KVM Import, Snapshot Copy, Scheduled Instance Lifecycle Operations, CloudStack DRS, VNF Appliances Support, and Object Storage Support.
Apache CloudStack offers a significant advantage by enabling service providers to seamlessly migrate from vendor-driven to open-source solutions.
