LITITZ, PA — In a turn of events, a 30-year-old man from Quarryville, Pennsylvania has been arrested on allegations of forgery. Hans Aaron Herr was arraigned on January 4, 2024, following a five-month-long investigation by the Manheim Township Police Department.

The saga began on August 9, 2023, when an employee at Ephrata National Bank, located at 3190 Lititz Pk, reported a suspicious activity. According to the witness, Herr attempted to cash a payroll check amounting to $3,214.63 from B&P Neal Enterprises Inc. The bank employee found the check out of the ordinary as it did not match other checks issued by the said business.

Upon contacting B&P Neal Enterprises Inc., the bank was informed that no such hefty payroll check had been issued by them. This discrepancy prompted further investigation into Herr’s alleged actions.

Following this revelation, Herr’s identity was confirmed through PennDOT records and surveillance footage. Based on these details, a criminal complaint was filed against Herr for alleged forgery, and an arrest warrant was issued by the Honorable David P. Miller.

For months, Herr remained a person of interest in the case, with the police department actively seeking his whereabouts. His arrest came almost half a year later, leading to his arraignment earlier this month. The previously issued warrant has since been canceled, and bail for Herr was set at $3,000 unsecured.

It is important to note that these are mere allegations at this point, and Herr is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
