HORSHAM, PA, CHANDLER, AZ, and MEDIA, PA — Aegis Software has announced its support for a global research initiative aimed at uncovering how artificial intelligence (AI) and analytics can drive meaningful improvements for manufacturers. The study, developed by the Manufacturing Enterprise Solutions Association International (MESA) and Tech-Clarity, seeks to understand how companies are leveraging traditional metrics alongside advanced technologies like machine learning (ML) and generative AI (GenAI).
The study is open for responses throughout December 2024, giving manufacturing professionals a chance to provide insights into their use of analytics, as well as the challenges and opportunities AI presents in the sector.
Deb Geiger, Aegis Software’s Vice President of Global Marketing, emphasized the importance of quality data as the foundation for successful AI applications in manufacturing. “Today’s manufacturing environments generate massive amounts of data, but the key to driving value lies in ensuring that data is accurate, contextualized, and actionable,” said Geiger. “Without getting the data right, even the most sophisticated analytics or AI initiatives will fall short. This research provides an industry-wide perspective on how companies are addressing these foundational challenges while exploring the role of AI in unlocking new levels of efficiency and insight.”
According to Geiger, the research findings will play a vital role in shaping Aegis Software’s offerings, including its FactoryLogix® platform, a fully adaptive and unified manufacturing execution system (MES). “The findings will help inform our strategies and FactoryLogix roadmap to continue to deliver value with our adaptive unified MES offering, as we have for many years,” she added.
Julie Fraser, Vice President of Research for Operations and Manufacturing at Tech-Clarity, underlined the importance of collaboration in driving meaningful insights for the industry. “Our ability to conduct meaningful research relies on many other companies’ support,” said Fraser. “Having sponsors like long-time MES leader Aegis Software helping to guide the program is one aspect. We also rely on manufacturing company employees responding and sharing their experiences.”
Manufacturing professionals are encouraged to contribute to the study by participating in the survey. Respondents will receive a copy of the final report, which aims to serve as a valuable resource for industry decision-makers grappling with the complexities of analytics and AI.
This initiative reflects an industry-wide push to leverage data and emerging technologies to overcome challenges and unlock new opportunities in manufacturing efficiency, accuracy, and insight.
