LANSDALE, PA — In a determined effort to address the burgeoning issue of female incarceration and the challenges of reentry into society, The 365 Foundation Inc., under the leadership of Executive Director Natalie Venezia, is spearheading an innovative initiative aimed at catalyzing change within the realm of prison reform. This mission, rooted deeply in human rights, seeks to illuminate and tackle the systemic issues facing one of society’s most marginalized groups.
With the alarming rise in female incarceration rates drawing increasing concern, the foundation has partnered with Montgomery County’s Reentry Initiative to push for pivotal legislative changes. The collaboration underscores a broad, concerted effort to reshape public policy and societal attitudes towards incarcerated women and their path back to community life.
The initiative’s comprehensive approach encompasses public education and community service projects, focusing on improving confinement conditions and facilitating the successful reintegration of formerly incarcerated women. It rallies a diverse coalition of stakeholders, from former inmates and social service providers to legal experts and nonprofit leaders, all united by a common goal: forging a path towards more equitable criminal justice policies.
Central to the foundation’s strategy are three specialized committees—Crossing Fences, which addresses confinement and reentry challenges; Incarcerated Mothers, focusing on the unique needs of imprisoned mothers; and an Art Therapy Treatment program designed to offer therapeutic support to incarcerated women. Through these targeted efforts, The 365 Foundation Inc. not only advocates for immediate reform but also lays the groundwork for long-term systemic change, championing a future where the cycle of incarceration can be broken and reentry becomes a pathway to empowerment rather than a roadblock.
